Fun Facts

If you have spent any time at CFL, you have seen The Jordo and Lulu Show. It usually involves some super short shorts, a lot of laughing, heavy wodding, and some kids.

LuAnn and Jordan are not only responsible for babysitting the CFL kids during WODs, they are pretty much the life of the party when they are together; if you can understand them. These two speak in movie quotes, shortened words, and text message acronyms…really fast too, so you better listen closely.

It’s a fact, CFL just wouldn’t be the same without these girls; whom most of the Legitimus family refer to as “little sisters."

Want to know more about these two? Read on…

Fun Facts About The CFL Little Sisters

- Jordan has been Crossfitting for almost 2 years
- Lu passed her 1 year mark in May
- Jordo’s favorite thing to do at CFL is “lift heavy shit”

- Lu loves deadlifting and almost all AMRAP WODs

- Jordo hates the rower, and Lu has a love/hate relationship with all WODs

- Both girls drive nearly 40 minutes to work out at Legitimus

- Jordo is CFL’s “sponsored athlete”… if you’ve seen her WOD you know why

- Both girls work part time jobs 25-30 hours a week, and go to school full time, in addition to wodding 5 days a week, and babysitting the CFL kids

- Lu is studying to be an English teacher, Jordo a kindergarten teacher

- They make special CD's for their long ride in the car to CFL, and jam out the whole way

- The girls plan when to wear their cut off T-shirts, like Crossfit Twin Day

- LuAnn is a master in the kitchen and bakes the most amazing non-paleo treats

- Both girls eat like College football players, for real, their appetites are insane

- LuAnn’s favorite dance move is the “Bernie”

- Both girls can crack an egg open with one hand, love Lemonade popsicles, and used to be Muscle Milk addicts until a certain Coach cut them off
- LuAnn pretty much has no immune system, which is great because she works with kids and in a hospital (insert sarcasm here)

- Both girls have a small, slightly unhealthy obsession with The Jersey Shore

- For fun, Jordan and LuAnn try on their size 0 jeans and then laugh their heads off when their massive quads bust open the seams

- Lu taught Jordan how to catch bugs “like a ninja”

- In the Winter, the girls show up to WOD in their snuggies, which is totally weird, but normal for them

- LuAnn has a serious boyfriend of 2 years who is 6 foot 7 inches tall, 285 pounds, a sniper by day, and an MMA fighter by night

- Jordan used to drink a gallon of whole milk in 2 days, when she stopped she immediately became shredded and started deadlifting her Jeep for fun

These girls are obviously not your average 19 and 21 year olds, with so many responsibilities, and a clear dedication to a healthy lifestyle. LuAnn and Jordan are regulars at all Legitimus functions, and consider CFL their home away from home. These girls are the epitome of what Crossfit is all about; family, fun, friendship, and fitness!

Sport Kilt Loves the Legitimus Ladies!

Sport Kilt is currently holding a funny video contest, and the winner gets some kilt cash!

If you haven't noticed, the women at Legitimus love to get their wod on in mini kilts, so they put on their best funny faces, and came up with a video for the contest.

It's safe to say Sport Kilt was inspired by the CFL submission.

How do we know??

Because they sent out a MASS EMAIL with a link to our video this morning, and said this:

"We always love to hear how people are using Sport Kilt's - the video that the ladies from Crossfit Legitimus submitted to our Funny Sport Kilt Video Ad Contest illustrates the Mini Kilt in action as a workout outfit... We Were Inspired."

Yup, they love us.

In fact, they loved our video so much, that they got to thinking and said it's been 'some time' since they've offered a "Ladies Only" sale," so through Monday, get 10% off any Women's Kilt when you use the code "SKgirls11" at checkout!"

Wow, we inspired a sale!

But don't pull out your credit card yet! Instead, head on over to You Tube and start seriously clicking our video, the more views, the better our chances are of winning!

Tell your kids, tell your wife, tell your Husband... cause Legitimus needs some hits up in here!

Getting to Know Dave Fichera....

One morning, three years ago, Dave Fichera woke up and realized how unhappy he was with his entire life. He was overweight, out of shape, and knew something had to change.

So he got on the treadmill, and started running. Before long Dave was running outside too, first a half mile, then a mile... and then, he was a runner.

Fichera had read about Crossfit in the past, but wasn't 100% ready to jump in with both feet. Dave was content being a runner, until he walked into Crossfit Legitimus 9 weeks ago, and realized something else was missing. Jen Conlin.

Fichera credits Jen, and the Legitimus family, for helping him move beyond running alone, to begin Crossfitting; improve his strength, and actually really enjoy it! In a little more than 2 months, he has lost 35 pounds, and almost 3 inches off his waist. Dave is amazed by how quickly his fitness level has improved, and even hopes to compete within the next 6 months.

Dave says he loves each and every workout, even those with burpees. Like most people, Dave came to Legitimus for the fitness, and is staying for the love. He, like everyone else, is amazed by how supportive and sincere our community really is, and so appreciates the love he gets from all sides of the box. Crossfitting at CFL has become a part of Dave's daily dose of sanity, and he hopes to be able to continue wodding for years to come.

Dave is a positive addition to the Legitimus family, and is always cheering on other members, helping them through their wods. Dave also killed it in the Paleo Challenge, winning the prize of Most Improved Male. He also deadlifts a small house, and is consistently adding more weight to all of his lifts... keep your eyes on this guy, he is improving daily!

Welcome Dave!

((Contrary to what the Crossfit Kids may tell you, Dave is a licensed clinical massage therapist, NOT a garbage man. He is currently offering a special for $15 off massages for Legitimus members)).

Welcome Mike!

Mike Solla may be a new face around the box, but he is not new to Crossfit. Though he has only been Crossfitting since February of this year, Mike has already received his Level 1 (L1) Certification to Coach! Talk about not wasting any time!

This past Spring, Mike spent a life changing weekend in Canton, MA, where he completed his L1, and was lucky enough to have dinner with the founder of Crossfit, Greg Glassman. Mike got to know many important figures in the Crossfit Community that weekend, and shortly after his return, found Crossfit Legitimus, his new home.

Mike came to CFL by way of his friend LuAnn, who told him about our amazing community, and awesome space to WOD in.

Mike doesn't have a particular type of WOD he favors more than others, but his favorite lift is "any type of squat". He also enjoys gymnastics movements, but admits he still needs some work in that department.

When he isn't cheering everyone on at Legitimus, Mike is a professional soccer referee. He works with countless leagues including the WPL (Women's Professional League), Premier Development League, and the Development Academy, to name just a few. Mike also works for the NCAA refereeing in the Big East, America East, Ivy League, MAAC (Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference).

If you don't know Mike yet, you will soon. He puts up heavy weight, and is a really positive addition to our box. Mike makes it a point to learn people's names and really cheer them on throughout the WOD. Make sure to return the favor! Welcome Mike!

Getting to Know... Adam Gompper

Adam Gompper used to be the type of gym rat that lifted heavy, talked between sets, and... that's about it.

A year before finding CFL, Adam's job as a Police Dispatcher had him attached to a desk; leaving little time for any sort of fitness routine. Before long, Adam weighed 248 pounds, and knew it was time to get back in the gym.

This past spring, a friend of Adam's told him about his own success at Crossfit Thin Blue Line in Manchester, and Adam's interest was immediately peaked.

In mid- April, Adam looked up the box closest to his home; found Legitimus, Coach Jen Conlin... and the rest is history. Adam has been a regular at the 9:30 class ever since.

In just 3 short months, Adam has lost 14 pounds, and is noticing that his arms and shoulders are becoming more toned. Adam is loving watching his times and weights improve, and was thrilled when he completed his first entire WOD with box jumps, instead of step ups.

Adam admits that he still struggles sometimes with running long distances, but relies on the amazing support from other members to pull him through. With the help of gym wide encouragement, Adam has started to really believe he can do just about anything Jen throws his way. It may take awhile, but he knows eventually he will get it!!

Law enforcement is a tradition in Adam's family; one that he would like to continue by eventually becoming a cop. Adam says the physical testing has been difficult for him in the past, and is hopeful that Crossfit will help him see his dreams of becoming a cop thru to fruition.

Adam has been married since January of this year, and is still trying to convince his wife to come join the CFL family!!

Be sure to say, "Hi," if you see Adam in the gym. He is improving his fitness and making gains at every WOD!

Welcome Adam!
