Adam Gompper used to be the type of gym rat that lifted heavy, talked between sets, and... that's about it.
A year before finding CFL, Adam's job as a Police Dispatcher had him attached to a desk; leaving little time for any sort of fitness routine. Before long, Adam weighed 248 pounds, and knew it was time to get back in the gym.
This past spring, a friend of Adam's told him about his own success at Crossfit Thin Blue Line in Manchester, and Adam's interest was immediately peaked.
In mid- April, Adam looked up the box closest to his home; found Legitimus, Coach Jen Conlin... and the rest is history. Adam has been a regular at the 9:30 class ever since.
In just 3 short months, Adam has lost 14 pounds, and is noticing that his arms and shoulders are becoming more toned. Adam is loving watching his times and weights improve, and was thrilled when he completed his first entire WOD with box jumps, instead of step ups.
Adam admits that he still struggles sometimes with running long distances, but relies on the amazing support from other members to pull him through. With the help of gym wide encouragement, Adam has started to really believe he can do just about anything Jen throws his way. It may take awhile, but he knows eventually he will get it!!
Law enforcement is a tradition in Adam's family; one that he would like to continue by eventually becoming a cop. Adam says the physical testing has been difficult for him in the past, and is hopeful that Crossfit will help him see his dreams of becoming a cop thru to fruition.
Adam has been married since January of this year, and is still trying to convince his wife to come join the CFL family!!
Be sure to say, "Hi," if you see Adam in the gym. He is improving his fitness and making gains at every WOD!
Welcome Adam!
