Member Spotlight: T.J. Oneglia

T.J. Oneglia is pretty humble about his fitness ability.

A Legitimus member for one year, T.J.; who says he loves box jumps, and Olympic lifting, is also one of the fastest people in the gym, according to Coach Brian.

Coach Jen says that T.J.... "makes the Litchfield Road Race look like a walk in the park,"... so we know he is pretty damn fast.

T.J. is also the first person in the history of CrossFit to say that he truly really enjoys wall ball...but don't worry, he hates wall walks just like the rest of us.

T.J. is the type of athlete who would rather go light and focus on correct form than go heavy and risk injury.

He is a 5:30 am regular, and hopes to keep improving his fitness, stay healthy, and eventually get a muscle up!

He and his wife Mary, who also WODs at Legitimus sometimes, recently moved from Litchfield to Avon with their two children.

If you see T.J. at the gym, please ask him to slow down... and stop making the rest of us look bad!

Member Spotlight: Nicole Weston

If you have had the pleasure of working out with Nicole, then you already know a few things:

She is super fast.
She is super friendly.
She is strong as shit.

That last one is a direct quote from Coach Jen, and if she said it, you know its true.

Nicole started CrossFitting at Legitimus when she bought a Groupon last year. She had taken a class at another box and was less than pleased with the workout, so she was slightly skeptical about whether or not CrossFit was really for her.

A year later and she is wodding 4 days a week (she is a 7 am regular), and is addicted (like everyone else).

Nicole loves the challenge, the constant change of pace, and the fact that wods are not posted… the surprise is what gets her into the gym!

Her CrossFit likes and dislikes include; the super motivating coaches (like) and snatches (dislike).

Nicole’s current gym related goals are to get one unassisted Pull Up by her birthday (in March!), and to continue striving towards eating 100% Paleo.

Nicole credits CrossFit to helping change her life;

“There is no longer, ‘I can’t,’… now I tell myself that I can do it… so if you ever see me talking to myself, that’s why!!”

Nicole threw out her scale a year ago, so she can’t say for certain how much weight she has lost… but she has gone shopping twice in 12 months for smaller pants!!

If you haven’t wodded with Nicole just yet, be on the lookout for her killing workouts and taking names… and doing pull ups by March!

Women's Fitness Camp Session 2!

Good News!

If you couldn't make it to the Women's Fitness Camp over the holidays, we have another session launching in a few weeks!

The Legitimus Women's Fitness Camp is starting up again on January 14.

This class will run for 4 weeks, on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:30-11:30 am.

The Women's Fitness Camp differs from our regular CrossFit classes because there is NO barbell work, and NO pull ups.

If you are a little hesitant to try CrossFit because you've heard it's for fire breathing maniacs (we actually take that as a compliment), then this is the class for you.

You will get an intense cardio workout, scaled to your specific fitness level and ability.

Legitimus member Jackie Blea, has attended both CrossFit and Women's Fitness Camp classes, and had this to say about the Program:

"The Fitness Camp is perfect for me! I wasn't feeling very successful in CrossFit classes, but the Fitness Camp gave me the self-esteem boost I needed. All of the movements are still CrossFit related, but are scaled back a bit. It is a great way to enter the CrossFit world slowly, and I would absolutely suggest it for anyone!"

If you are interested in giving the Women's Fitness Camp a try, please contact Coach Liz or Coach Jen today.

Jen@CrossFitLegitimus.com

The next session begins on January 14, and costs $150 for the 12 class program.

Hope to see you there!!
