Mom's Comp in Review

The 1st Annual "Mama Said Knock You Out," Competition was a huge success!!

CrossFit Legitimus hosted 55 Moms from all over New England for a full day of 3 hard core WODs.

The Moms ranged in age from 24 to 65, with children ranging in age from 10 weeks to 40(ish)!!

What exactly does a Mom's competition look like??

For starters, there were kids everywhere!

Big kids, little kids; babies, pacifiers, bottles, strollers and car seats!

There were kid's watching mini DVD players, playing video games, climbing in the snow, and of course...doing burpees.

Being a Mom's Comp means there was a ton of multi-tasking going on; a lot of chasing kids, squatting opening juice boxes, even breast feeding between WODs.

The energy in Legitimus was electric; it was wall to wall beautiful, strong, women supporting one another. There were toned bodies, high socks, and Lulu's as far as the eye could see. There was also compassion, and friendship.

Moms were handing off kids between WODs, rocking each other's babies, and hugging it out at the end of 3 grueling WODs.

Inspiring stories were coming from all sides of the box. Like Michelle, from CFNE; who is almost 45, recovering from an injury, a mother of 4, and placed 18th! Or Deb, from SCF; who worked overnight as an RN prior to coming to Legitimus, and placed 2nd overall... on no sleep!

Make no mistake; these 55 competitors are some of the very best athletes in New England. The WOD times were insane, the lifting form was perfection... even the burpees were beautiful. These Moms were no joke, and earned their fitness every step of the way. Not one person gave up, gave in to the pain, or walked off the mat.

The best of the best made the Top 10. This group of fire-breathers (who have a combined total of 24 children altogether**) took on a 4th horrendous WOD (rowers, 45 pound plates, a pink snow bank...), and kept on smiling.

No matter what the CFL Crew threw at these women, they went for it full speed ahead; like only a mother can.

Crossfit Legitimus was honored to host such inspiring women who wake up everyday to take care of their families, homes, jobs, and finally, themselves.

One last note to Competitors:

Be proud of yourselves.

Not only for competing in a great event; but because you are leading by example.

You are teaching your children the importance of fitness and friendship.

You are involving your family in amazing communities that support you, and want to see you succeed.

You are changing the way people expect Moms to think, act, and exercise.

And let's not forget... you've got a killer body.

Congrats to all, take a rest day; you deserve it!
