Franklyn Darnis was a little confused, and a little lost.
He had been hearing about Crossfit for over a year, but for some reason, thought it was something exclusive to California, and the West Coast. Franklyn spent much of last summer researching the sport online, but still didn't make the connection that Crossfit was going on literally, right in his backyard.
Fast forward to a few months ago, when Franklyn ran into a family friend who told him that there were many different Crossfit affiliates in Connecticut. Franklyn wasted no time searching out nearby boxes, and came across coach Jen Conlin's bio. After some cyber stalking of Jen's credentials, Franklyn was sold and knew Legitimus was the place to be.
Franklyn admits he was never really great at the sports he played in school (squash, golf, and running Cross Country), but hitting the weights was something different. Franklyn loves all powerlifting movements, specifically bench pressing, deadlifting, and back squatting. If you have seen him in the gym, you know he is a natural Olympic Lifter (his form is spot on, he can lift a house, and is only getting stronger!!) For as good as he is at Oly Lifts, Franklyn says he is equally as bad at jump roping. He is really trying hard to master first single unders, and then like the rest of us, move on to double unders.
Franklyn's immediate fitness goal right now is to improve his overall conditioning while maintaining his strength (he has come to the right place!). Of course, like the rest of us, he would also like to lean out a little bit, while staying strong and fit.
If you haven't had the pleasure of WODing with Franklyn yet, be on the lookout for him lifting with the Weightlifting Club, and WODing right along side the competitors. Franklyn wasted no time becoming one of Legitimus' members to watch, and it's safe to say he is definitely not lost anymore!
Glad we found you Franklyn! Welcome to the family!
